Most residential fence installations are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex projects may take two to three days. We use a no-dig installation process, which keeps the job site clean and allows us to work efficiently. Our crew walks you through the finished installation before closing out the project.

A to Z offers three service levels — Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and Bronze Medal — that determine who handles the property survey, permitting, and code compliance for your project. The main difference comes down to liability: who is responsible if the fence ends up on the wrong property line. Gold Medal service is the most comprehensive — A to Z coordinates a licensed survey, pulls all permits, and assumes full liability for placement. Silver Medal uses survey documents you provide. Bronze Medal puts survey and permitting responsibility entirely with the customer. The service level is selected during your on-site consultation. We serve residential customers within approximately 40 miles of our two locations — Hartford, WI and Farmington, MN. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. For commercial projects, our travel crews extend that reach significantly, including nationwide installations. Yes. A to Z Quality Fencing carries General Liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance for all work we perform. This protects you as a homeowner if there’s accidental property damage or a worker is injured on your property. Licensing requirements vary by state and project type — we stay current with requirements in both Wisconsin and Minnesota and can provide documentation if your municipality, HOA, or permit office requires it. We install vinyl, aluminum, modern aluminum, cedar, chain link, and solar fencing. For residential customers, privacy fencing is our most common project, but we also install semi-privacy, picket, pool, pet, and custom configurations. Commercial installations are available as well.

No-Mess, No-Dig™ is the installation method A to Z developed and uses on every fence we install. Instead of digging post holes and setting posts in concrete, we drive galvanized steel posts directly into the ground. Those posts are then covered with vinyl, aluminum, or cedar post sleeves to create a clean, finished appearance. The result is a stronger foundation — steel at ground level is more resistant to shifting and damage than concrete-set posts — with no dirt piles, no landscape disruption, and no waiting for concrete to cure. Our No-Mess, No-Dig™ method drives galvanized steel posts directly into the ground, working in cold and frozen conditions where traditional concrete-set installations can’t. Winter installation also has practical advantages: scheduling is faster, crews have more availability, and projects often come in at the lower end of the estimated price range.
